Five militants were killed in two separate encounters in Kashmir Valley on Thursday, security forces said. While four terrorists were killed in a gunfight in Budgam district, another was killed in Baramulla area. He was shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.Meanwhile, authorities today said that the government forces, in 2017, have killed more than 200 militants in the state including around 82 locals, which is highest in the past decade. “Today by the collective effort of J&K police, Indian Army, CAPF and people of Kashmir have lead to neutralization of more than 200 terrorists in the year of 2017 alone. This marks a huge landmark for establishing peace and stability in the state of J&K and our country,” Director General of J&K police S P Vaid tweeted.
