<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>The BJP will mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Tuesday by holding Run for Unity events at different places in the city.Addressing reporters, BJP general secretary Anil Jain lashed out at the Congress saying the party had denied Sardar Patel his due. He said that the Narmada Dam, which is named after Sardar Patel, was completed only after the Narendra Modi government came to power at the Centre.”The work for Statue of Unity is going on at full speed, and will be completed at the earliest,” Jain said.Reports said last week that about 70% work on the 182-metre Statue, which will be the world’s tallest statue on completion, has already been finished. The Rs3,000-crore statue is being built as a Memorial to Sardar Patel.Jain also said that the BJP has organised Run for Unity events at several places in the state to mark the anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Jain himself will remain present at the Run in Ahmedabad.BJP spokesperson Jaynarayan Vyas said that Run for Unity would be held at 18 places in the state on Tuesday.Chief minister Vijay Rupani will attend the Run at Gandhinagar, while deputy chief minister Nitin Patel will do so in his constituency Mehsana.BJP leaders from the state such as former CM Anandiben Patel, party chief Jitu Vaghani, besides union ministers Parshottam Rupala, Mansukh Mandaviya, Haribhai Chaudhary and Jashwantsinh Bhabhor, will also witness the Run for Unity events at different places in the state.Meanwhile, the Ahmedabad district administration has also organised a Run for Unity event to mark Sardar Jayanti. Officials said that district collector Avantika Singh and municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar will flag off the Run at Sardar Smarak, Shahibaugh, at 8 am on Tuesday.
