<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Police have arrested two men and busted a gang of auto-lifters who used police uniforms to avoid suspicion and fled with jewellery and high-end cars in southwest Delhi.Earlier, the duo had held captive two men at gunpoint and were trying to flee with their cars, but were later arrested. The abductions were worked out within 24 hours, police claimed.The accused have been identified as Rahul (21) and Sachin Gulia (22). Jewellery, vehicles and a loaded pistol was recovered from them.According to the police, two incidents of car-jacking and robbery were reported from Najafgarh and Dwarka, during the early hours on Wednesday.The first incident was reported to the police by one Raju, a driver of a Swift Dzire. He was overpowered by two men who got into the car in Najafgarh after snatching the car keys from him, he told police. They took him along as well.”The criminals took over the car and drove to Dwarka with the victim. When they reached a crematorium in Dwarka, they noticed a white Verna and targeted it. They blocked its way with the Swift and stepped out of the vehicle to overpower the driver. This was when Raju got an opportunity and fled from the duo’s custody.”Seeing him flee, the two men left the Swift Dzire and took over the Verna from its owner, Satvinder Singh. They also took his gold chain. Singh later called up the police and reported the matter,” said Surender Kumar, DCP (Southwest).Kumar said that a police team received a tip-off that suspects would come to Chhawla area the next day. Accordingly a trap was set to catch the duo.Grand theft showThe arrested duo had lifted two cars on Wednesday morning, a Swift Dzire and a white Verna, and held one hostage. The first robbery happened in Najafgarh, where the duo overpowered a cab driver and took his car, and took him hostage. Later the same day, they targeted a Verna in Dwarka and blocked the car with the stolen Dzire. They had even robbed a gold chain from the Verna owner, who reported the case to the cops.
