<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>As many as 1,664 candidates have filed nominations for the 93 Assembly seats going to polls in the second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections, official sources said.State’s CEO BB Swain said in an official release that 1,313 candidates filed their nominations on Monday, which was the last day for filing of nominations. 351 nominations were filed prior to that, taking the total number of candidates to 1,664.The number of candidates in fray will decline after the nomination papers are scrutinised. However, a clear scene will emerge only on Friday which is the last day for withdrawal of names from the election battle. Ninety-three seats of 14 districts in central and north Gujarat will go to polls in the second phase on December 14. In the first phase of voting for 89 seats in Kutch, Saurashtra and south Gujarat, as many as 977 candidates are in the fray.
