Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who visited Gujarat seven times in the past three months, will be back in the state later this week, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to crisscross the whole state starting next week.Congress sources said Gandhi is scheduled to have a dialogue with fishermen in Porbandar on Friday. Later in the afternoon, he is slated to visit the Dalit Shakti Kendra in Nani Devti village of Sanand to accept a large national flag prepared by Dalit community members.Dalit rights activist Martin Macwan said the flag, measuring 125 feet by 83.3 feet, weighs about 240 kg, and has been prepared by 150 Dalits from 10 states.The Congress leader will later hold a dialogue with doctors at Thakorbhai Desai Hall about the prevailing health scenario in the state, which will be followed by a similar interaction with teachers in Nikol to discuss state of education.PM Narendra Modi, the ruling BJP’s biggest vote catcher, is expected to begin his Gujarat election campaign from next week. He is expected to address about 25 – 30 rallies in the run-up to the polls in his home state.He is expected to address public rallies in Bhuj, Amreli, Vapi and Kamrej on November 27, and in Navsari, Bharuch, Junagadh and Bhavnagar on November 29. He is also slated to address poll rallies in Talala, Morbi and Rajkot on December 3, and in Surendranagar, Palitana, Jasdan and Jamnagar, the next day.The state BJP, however, said that Modi’s programme is not finalised yet.Elections in the state will be held in two phases. In the first phase, polling will be held in Kutch, Saurashtra and south Gujarat on December 9, while seats in central and north Gujarat go to polls on December 14.
