A journalist working with a prominent Hindi daily was brutally murdered in Kanpur’s Bilhaur area on Thursday.The victim has been identified as Naveen Gupta, who was working with Hindi daily ‘Hindustan’.According to the police, Gupta was on his way to home, when unidentified attackers riding bikes stopped him and started firing indiscriminately.Four bullets hit Gupta when the attackers opened fire on him from a close range near Nagar Palika building. Four empty cartridges were recovered by the police from the murder site. Agitated over the killing, a delegation of Kanpur journalist met with the SSP Akhilesh Kumar Meena and demanded arrest of the killers at the earliest.The murder comes almost a month after another journalist was killed in similar manner in October.Rajesh Mishra was shot dead by unidentified attackers in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur district. Mishra was working with Dainik Jagran. He was also a block in-charge of the RSS.
