Traditionally a BJP bastion and a seat from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi contested thrice, it was very difficult for MLA Suresh Patel, who has won the second time in a row, to look at areas that needed development. Two years, and now Patel, who won with a margin of 75199 votes, has charted out plans for his constituency.Quick enough to respond when asked his priorities, he said, “Modification of LG hospital by setting up a department of cardiology, completion of work to ensure no waterlogging during monsoon and LED lights on streets are my priorities. Since the PM used to represent this constituency, the place has seen much development work. Since I took over this seat over the last two years, we have installed machines and improved roads to reduce waterlogging. Over 50% of work has been done. The remaining work will be finished in a year.”Suresh Patel of BJP took over the seat in 2014 after Modi quit as the legislative assembly member of Maninagar.
