<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>A day after Bihar BJP chief’s controversial remark, RJD leader and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi has said that many in the state were ready to slit Prime Minister’s throat and chop his hand.Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai had stoked a controversy saying that any finger or hand raised at PM Narendra Modi ought to be ‘broken or chopped off’.However, even the leader expressed regret and withdrew his remark, Rabri Devi said, “Many in Bihar are ready to slit PM’s throat and chop his hand.”Describing the hardships Modi had faced in his childhood, Rai had said,”He is the son of a poor man and he should be honoured. Any finger or hand raised at him should be either broken or chopped off.”But when questioned about his statement by reporters today, Rai, who is also the MP from Ujiarpur Lok Sabha seat in the state, said, “I used a ‘muhavra’ (idiom) to express my sentiments. My words were not to be taken literally. However, if it has caused any hurt, I express my deepest regret and withdraw my comment.”
