According to Imam Ziyauddin Al Hussaini, the miscreants from another community beat his brother Saba Hasan, called him Pakistani, and asked them to flee from the state.Following the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Love Kumar and District Magistrate (DM) BN Singh held a meeting with members of the two communities to maintain peace and order in the Chapproli Banger village.”When a mob attacked the mosque, we were shocked. People had turned a fight over parking into a communal issue. So, we called up people from both the communities and took help from them to find a solution. We have ordered the Station House officer to deploy extra security personnel in the village, so that any untoward incident can be prevented,” Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Kumar said.On Monday, Suresh Chauhan, who often acts as mediator in inter-community meetings, had called for a meeting to discuss the issue of haphazard parking outside the mosque, especially on Fridays. People from all communities were called for the meeting, scheduled at 9 am, but no one turned up from the mosque. Then, some members from the other community went to the mosque to confront the members there. Narrating the ordeal, Hussaini said he heard some noise and came out of the mosque.”I saw a mob of nearly 100 people pelting stones at the small room where I and my brother sleep,” he said.He further alleged that the group vandalised the room and beat his brother Hasan, who said, “They asked me to leave the area. I tried telling them that it was a mosque, not a madrasa, but they kept beating me and hurling abuses at me. They called me Pakistani, terrorist.”A caretaker at the mosque, Kalu Khan, then filed a complaint.
