<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Delhi police are gearing up to tackle the movements of Kanwariyas in the city to help inconvenience the public and cause obstruction in traffic flow. Traffic police on Monday issued an advisory in advance to make people aware of the routes which will witness heavy congestion during their movement and diversions to come up in order to decongest the Capital’s roads.Narendra Singh Bundela, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said that the police have made elaborate arrangements to segregate the movement of Kanwariyas and the public on the roads to minimise hassle to both the general public and devotees.”Devotees and road users are advised to follow traffic rules and obey the directions of policemen on duty. During this period, traffic violations will be monitored and on the spot prosecutions will also be initiated. Photography and videography of violations will also be done,” Bundela said.According to the police, the main routes of the Kanwariyas in Delhi would be from the Apsara Border to Shahdara flyover and from Seelampur ‘T’ point towards ISBT Flyover. Also from Boulevard Road to Rani Jhansi Road to Faiz Road and to Vande Matram Marg towards Dhaula Kuan to NH-8 and exit from Rajokri Border to enter Haryana.Similarly from the Bhopra Border to Wazirabad Road to Loni Flyover and from Gokulpuri ‘T’ point to 66 Foota Road along with Seelampur ‘T’ point to NH-1 and further towards the new ISBT Bridge.Apart from this, a route via Maharajpur Border to Road number 56 to Ghazipur Border from NH-24 Ring Road via Mathura Road and exit from Badarpur Border to enter Haryana will also be followed. Kalindi Kunj–Mathura Road-Badarpur-Border-Maa Anand Mai Marg — MB Road is also a designated route for Kanwariyas with New Rohtak Road (From Kamal T-Point to Tikri Border) and in Najafgarh Road (From Zakhira to Najafgarh).”Heavy transport vehicles except city buses will not be allowed on GT Road towards Shahdara and Wazirabad Road from July 14 to July 21. Heavy commercial transport vehicles, except city buses, coming from GT Karnal Road at Outer Ring Road will be diverted straight towards NH-24 and will not be allowed to move on Wazirabad Road and GT Road towards Shahdara. Such traffic coming from internal areas like Sonia Vihar, PTS Wazirabad Pushta, Pushta Road will be diverted towards Outer Ring Road via Wazirabad Road to take NH-24,” Bundela said, adding that motorists are advised to plan their movement in advance to avoid inconvenience and delay.
