The Malabar Hill police have arrested a 24-year-old biker for allegedly mowing down the man who worked as a domestic help. The deceased has been identified as Danaram Rawal.Rawal was crossing a road near Bandstand police chowky when the speeding bike rammed him around 9:30 pm, police said. The biker has been identified as Akshay Nasare, a resident of Walkeshwar. According to police, Rawal got confused while he saw the bike racing towards him, police said.”While Rawal was crossing the road, he saw a bike coming towards him. Although he had stepped back, he sustained fatal injuries,” a police officer who witnessed the accident said.”We immediately rushed Rawal to Bombay Hospital where he died. He had sustained head injuries,” he added. Nasare, too, sustained minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Bombay Hospital. He was discharged after administering initial treatment.
