Gujarat Elections 2017 | Amit Shah: Who is Rahul Gandhi to question PM?

Congress is being wiped out from the country but is dreaming of coming to power in Gujarat, said BJP national president Amit Shah in Kodinar on Friday during his tour to Veraval.Shah also said that Congress cannot see the development in Gujarat as it does not have proper vision. Addressing a gathering at Kodinar, Shah said that Congress has been suffering setbacks from successive elections it is contesting across the country, refering to the results of elections to the local self government bodies in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.”I would like to ask Rahul Gandhi on which issues Congress is contesting the Legislative Assembly elections in Gujarat. Why is there any need to seek votes from people as BJP has done all the development works in Gujarat,” said Shah. The BJP president said that Congress cannot see the work done in Gujarat as they are looking through ‘Italian spectacles’. If they use spectacles made in Kodinar, they would be able to see the development clearly.Shah alleged that Congress has divided the society in the name of caste and hatred. “No sooner they start speaking, they will start opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Who is Rahul Gandhi to question Narendra Modi,” he said.Shah expressed confidence that even in absence of former BJP MLA Dinu Bogha Solanki, BJP will win the Kodinar seat and BJP will regain the reigns of Gujarat. Solanki has been charged with murder of RTI activist Amit Jethava and is in jail now.

Gujarat elections 2017: BJP leader Jetha Solanki may join Congress for ticket

<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>Gujarat BJP leader Jetha Solanki, who resigned from all the posts in his party on Saturday, is likely to join the Congress soon. Solanki is a Dalit leader and MLA from Kodinar seat in Gir Somnath district. It is said that Solanki will contest the polls from the same seat as the Congress candidate. Solanki was also a parliamentary secretary in Gujarat government and resigned from that post too.Solanki had a meeting in Kodinar with his supporters where he hinted at joining the Congress soon. He said, “I can join the Congress if they give me a ticket. If the BJP does not find me suitable, I would contest from Congress and prove my might.””Congress has contacted me and I could join them.On the other side, BJP is trying to muzzle my voice,” added Solanki.A senior leader of BJP said, “Solanki is very skeptical. He had started suspicious activities one year back. He wrote his resignation six months back also but we convinced him to not to do so.”

HC asks CID to probe ex-BJP MP’s role in attack on activist

<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>The Gujarat High Court today ordered a CID probe into a case of assault, carried out allegedly at the behest of former BJP MP Dinu Solanki, on an RTI activist at Kodinar in Gir Somnath district. Justice J B Pardiwala asked the Criminal Investigation Department to complete the probe under the supervision of Director General of Police while treating Solanki as an accused. RTI activist Mahesh Makwana was attacked by some people on December 13, 2016. It was captured by CCTV cameras. Kodinar police did not make Solanki an accused in the FIR though Makwana had named him. Makwana, who was seriously injured in the attack, moved the high court saying police filed a charge sheet within two months of registration of FIR even when investigation was incomplete. Charge sheet was filed in a hurry so that the assailants could get bail on the ground of completion of probe, argued Makwana’s lawyer Anand Yagnik today. Solanki got Makwana brutally beaten up because the latter had filed several RTI applications about former MP’s illegal mining activity in Junagadh, advocate Yagnik told the court. Solanki is also an accused in the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethwa and is currently on bail. Last Monday, the high court had transferred to CID another case from Kodinar where a mob, allegedly led by Solanki, attacked a family. The original FIR didn’t name Solanki and the high court ordered registration of a fresh FIR.(This article has not been edited by DNA’s editorial team and is auto-generated from an agency feed.)
