Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje presided over the 7th Raj Vikas Meeting on Thursday and reviewed the progress of various schemes across the state. She also directed officials to work on war path to include Rajasthan cities in top 50 cleanliest cities of the country. “The government is working to make Rajasthan an ODF State by March,18. The State departments should make ODF State as well as bring its cities in the Top-50 cleanest cities. The initiative under Swacch Bharat Abhiyan has picked up massively in the state,” said a statement quoting Raje as saying. Through video conferencing, the collectors informed the CM of the progress of works in their respective districts during the meeting. Raje, meanwhile, directed Principal Secretary, LSG Manjit Singh and Panchayati Raj Secretary, Naveen Mahajan to monitor the progress of ODF in various districts and form special units and cells to speed up work. She expressed satisfaction and voiced appreciation on the swift action on issues discussed in the previous meetings. Raje stated that the impressive growth and progress of projects under the Centre and State’s flagship schemes is an indication that Rajasthan is on the path to becoming a model state and the officials should continue to work with dedication. She said the state of Rajasthan has shown improvement in various indicators and now time has come for re-engineering current systems to simplify lengthy processes that often become a hindrance to investment and growth.
