FB friend bodyshames city woman, cops register case

The woman approached Shivaji Park police and registered a case of molestation against the man. The woman was chatting with a man who was recently added to her Facebook friends’ list.According to Shivaji Park police, the woman who works with a renowned private firm in Andheri, approached the police to file a complaint against a man with whom she was chatting for the past few months on Facebook messenger.The woman stated that the accused allegedly called her a “fat lady” which allegedly outraged her modesty.”The woman was friends with one foreigner on Facebook and started chatting with the person. When the man called her a fat lady, she approached us to file the complaint,” said a police officer.Gangadhar Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector, Shivaji Park police station, confirmed the incident and said, “We have registered a case under section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code.”

Five members of a family brutally murdered in Alwar

The police suspect that the five were hit with heavy objects. According to police, the murder occurred when the man’s wife and sister-in-law were fast asleep in the room on the first floor of their house while the other five deceased were asleep on the ground floor.The deceased man has been identified as Banwari Lal Sharma, his three children — Happy, Anju and Aman — and his nephew Nicky.”Banwari Lal was employed as a crane operator in a nearby company and he used to live in a rented house in Shivaji Park area of Alwar. Banwari Lal was married to one Santosh and for the past few days Santosh’s sister had also been living here with her son. Banwari’s brother’s son – Nicky – also used to live with the family” officials said.According to police, “We suspect that the family members might have been drugged since the bodies were in sleeping position. The deceased were murdered one after another and this is another point in investigation. It is suspected that someone close to the family might be behind this.”

DU student resists snatching bid, injured

<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>A 20-year-old first-year student of the Delhi University (DU) had to get over 38 stitches on her back after resisting a snatching bid near her college in north Delhi’s Timarpur area on Thursday afternoon. When the woman raised an alarm, the unidentified snatcher attacked her with a blade. The police have denied this being an act of a stalker or a jilted lover.According to the police, the incident took place around 3.30 pm, when the man, who had been following the girl for a few metres, tried to cut open her bag that she was carrying on her back. The victim, however, realised his intention and raised an alarm. The accused panicked and attacked her from behind with a sharp blade. He then fled from the spot.The girl was taken to hospital, where she was treated for injuries and discharged later. Her family members were also informed. “We have registered a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Timarpur police station. We are making all efforts to identify and arrest the man,” the police said.

Cops nab man for shooting 62-year-old

The man shot the woman outside her house in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area, on late Wednesday evening.Police have arrested the accused who works at an auto-repair centre.According to the police, it was around 9 pm when the woman, a resident of Mahendra Park area, and runs a shop there, was headed home after shutting the shop. Witnesses and locals told police she was climbing the stairs of her house when the man called her from behind.”The daughter of the woman, who was accompanying her, said the man called out to her mother and told her that he wanted to discuss something. When the mother-daughter duo stopped, he pulled out a pistol and shot at them twice. While one bullet hit the woman in her abdomen, the other went past her daughter’s head.As the woman collapsed, bleeding profusely, her daughter alerted neighbours, after which locals gathered. The accused, who tried to flee from the spot, was nabbed,” said a senior police officer.The woman was rushed to a hospital where her condition is said to be stable.
