<!– /11440465/Dna_Article_Middle_300x250_BTF –>For the third consecutive day, the Income Tax (I-T) officials continued their search for unaccounted wealth at over 40 premises of jailed AIADMK leader VK Sasikala’s kin, their associates and aides across the state.On Saturday, I-T sleuths seized volumes of incriminating documents relating to investments to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore and seven kilograms of unaccounted gold, luxury watches and cash from Sengamala Thayaar Educational Trust Women’s College hostel in Tiruvarur, which belongs to Sasikala’s brother, V Dhivaharan. Dhivaharan was taken for questioning and I-T officials also knocked at his daughter Mathangi’s residence at Defence Colony in Chennai.The department froze 51 bank accounts belonging to shell companies and individuals.”Several documents of money transactions seized during the raid are yet to be scrutinised. We will have total value of investments only after the completion of the search operation in all the premises,” the official said.On Thursday, a team of around 1,800 officials launched the massive search exercise at 187 premises connected to Sasikala’s kin in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi. The residences of Sasikala’s sister-in-law, Illavarassi’s son Vivek at Mahalingapuram and daughter Krishnapriya at T Nagar continued to be searched. The duo were also questioned about their source of income. Searches also continued at the offices of Jaya TV and Jazz cinemas in Chennai.
